Saucy Comic Lisa Lampinelli Warns Letterman of the Power of Twitter

After her performance on The Late Show With David Letterman on Tuesday, comedienne Lisa Lampinelli told Letterman about a Twitter post that cost her upwards of $44,000.

Earlier this year, the Westboro Baptist Church had threatened to protest one of her shows in Topeka, Kansas. Lampinelli, who is known to support certain gay groups, caught wind of this. She posted on Twitter that for every protester who showed up to that particular show, she would donate $1,000 to a gay charity group.

Forty-Four people showed up to the protest, and Lampinelli donated $44,000 to the Gay Men’s Health Crisis, according to the Web site TMZ.com.

Lampanelli said that while this was a lot of money, the whole event distracted people from calling her “fat” on Twitter.

Lampanelli fans who missed Tuesday’s appearance on Letterman will be able to see a lot more of this wise-crackin’ comedienne on television.

Today, Donald Trump just named her as a contestant on “Celebrity Apprentice”. “Celebrity Apprentice” will debut February 12 on NBC.

All this paying out for protesters, and trying not to get fired by “The Donald on “The Apprentice”, won’t slow down the racy Lampinelli, who will be back on the road soon, with her scheduled tours. See a full list of Lisa Lampanelli tour dates.

New York Comedy Festival – Coming to A [New York] City Near You

It’s that time of year again, the infamous New York Comedy Festival is right around the corner with 150 comedians performing at more than 10 venues around the city. The festival has been growing in popularity since it’s inception in 2004 and has been host to the world’s funniest and most respected standup comedians including Dane Cook, Mike Epps, Tracy Morgan, Artie Lange and Ricky Gervais – just to name a few. They’ve brought on co production partners Comedy Central, The Huffington Post and Caroline’s Comedy Club located at the city’s theatre Mecca, Times Square.

Howie Mandel Hits The Stage

Even though Howie Mandel has been performing on stage since 1979 and has been in a number of television shows and movies, he is still all over the place performing.

Despite hosting the show Deal or No Deal on NBC, Howie is still bringing his fun and original comedy to the stage. You can find him performing at a number of different places and he actually has a tour that will be starting September 24 and going all the way to January 2. He will be hitting sites in Arizona, Englewood, Florida and San Diego among other spots. So go out there and catch him if you can.
